About the book

Born to a white Swiss father and Xhosa mother in 1984 in South Africa, where mixed-race relationships were illegal, comedian and TV presenter Trevor Noah was kept hidden until he was five and grew up feeling the impact of apartheid. Across 18 personal stories he recalls with wit and honesty the intricacies of racism but also his strict Christian upbringing, times of hardship and his first steps into dating.
