Rise of Atlantis

About the book

Rise of Atlantis traces the relationship between human cognition and the institutions people build. Moving from pre-symbolic perception and the emergence of language to social organization and historical cycles, Jeffery Towery develops the Bias–Amplitude Model as a lens for examining how societies amplify some ways of thinking while suppressing others. The book argues for taking human variation seriously when evaluating stability, adaptation, and collapse. It is a work of nonfiction systems analysis, not an Atlantis adventure novel.
