This account of excavations at Marble Island ('Dead Man's Island')near Rankin Inlet in Hudson Bay, attempts to provide an explanation of the disappearance of the forty members of James Knight's expedition of 1719 to discover the Northwest Passage. It includes discovery of their submerged ships, and of evidence of a winter camp.
