Administration
Server settings are available to administrators from Settings → Server. The current stable release includes the following areas.
Users
Create and manage accounts, promote trusted users to administrators, deactivate accounts, and help users recover access. User libraries and personal reading data are isolated by account.
Use strong unique passwords and avoid sharing administrator credentials. For command-line recovery, see the repository’s admin tools documentation.
Metadata providers
Metadata lookup and cover retrieval use external providers. Provider outages, missing editions, and rate limits are normal possibilities. If a lookup fails, keep the original book data and retry later or edit the book manually.
Backup, SMTP, and AI
- Backup configures where automated backup files are stored.
- SMTP can be configured for deployments that need email support.
- AI settings are optional; enable them only after reviewing the provider and privacy implications.

OPDS and Audiobookshelf
OPDS exposes library content to compatible reading applications. Audiobookshelf synchronization can import or update audiobook-related data and listening progress. Both integrations should be tested with a limited scope before enabling scheduled synchronization.

Repairs and jobs
The Repairs panel handles incomplete metadata and data-health fixes. The Jobs panel helps inspect background work such as imports and synchronizations. See Repairing incomplete metadata and the relevant import guide.
Security checklist
- Set unique
SECRET_KEYandSECURITY_PASSWORD_SALTvalues. - Use HTTPS for remote access.
- Keep the KuzuDB worker count at one.
- Back up before upgrades, restores, imports, and repairs.
- Restrict access to the data directory and backup files.
- Review privacy settings before enabling public or community views.
