If you read ebooks on more than one KOReader device, Progress Sync can keep the reading location for the same ebook in sync. MyBibliotheca can also connect that ebook document to a book in your library, so accepted positions become part of that book’s private reading history.

Connect with separate sync credentials

Enable KOReader sync in MyBibliotheca Settings and create a dedicated sync username and password. They are different from your website sign in. In KOReader, set the custom server to https://mybibliotheca.org/kosync, sign in with those credentials, and enable automatic document sync. Sending document metadata helps MyBibliotheca suggest a title and author match.

KOReader needs an active Wi-Fi connection to contact the server. Once you have pushed a location, check Settings in MyBibliotheca to review the synced document. If the title and author match exactly one book in your library, it can be linked automatically; ambiguous editions can be linked manually.

Match page numbers to your ebook edition

The page count on a catalog record may describe a different edition from your ebook. If KOReader progress is at the right percentage but shows an unexpected page number, edit the MyBibliotheca book and set Edition page count to the total shown for the ebook you actually have. Push progress again after saving.

Progress Sync sends a location for an ebook; it does not transfer ebook files or highlights. It also cannot push a website position back into KOReader, because the reader needs a document specific location inside the file. Highlights and notes use a separate plugin.
