If Readwise is where you keep highlights and notes, MyBibliotheca can bring a private copy into your book library. Connect with a Readwise personal access token, choose which annotation types to import, and review the results alongside the matching book.

Readwise remains the source of truth

The connection is one way: MyBibliotheca imports changes from Readwise and does not write highlights, notes, tags, or edits back to Readwise. Choose whether future syncs include highlighted passages, notes, or both. A successful sync can also remove an imported highlight if it has been deleted from Readwise.

MyBibliotheca encrypts the access token before storing it and does not display it again. Treat the token like a password. You can disconnect to stop future imports; disconnecting keeps the imported copies already in your MyBibliotheca account.

Link imported books carefully

Readwise records do not create library books. MyBibliotheca attempts an automatic link when exactly one existing book has the same title and author after ignoring capitalization and extra spaces. Similar titles, alternate editions, or different author spellings may need a manual match in Settings. Until you decide, an unmatched Readwise record remains private.

Once linked, highlights and notes appear under the book’s Highlights and notes section. They do not change the shelf, book details, or reading history. Imported annotation text is subject to a 100 MB account limit.

A book title can refer to many editions. Page counts, covers, publication details, and ISBNs may differ between a hardcover, paperback, ebook, or audiobook. Searching by ISBN helps MyBibliotheca find a result for the specific edition you are reading.

Search or scan an ISBN

On Add a book, search by title, author, or ISBN. ISBN-10 and ISBN-13 can both be used. If you are holding a printed copy, choose Scan ISBN and point a supported phone or computer camera at the barcode. Check the result before adding it; you can still type the number if camera access is unavailable.

If search does not find the book, enter it manually with at least a title. You can fill in the author, ISBN, status, rating, and notes when you have them, then update the record later.

Choose a cover for your own copy

If the automatic cover is missing or belongs to a different edition, open the book’s detail page and choose Change this cover. Search with the ISBN for the edition you want, review the available options, then choose the one that matches. You can also upload a JPEG, PNG, or WebP image up to 5 MB. Uploaded covers are processed and private to your library entry; they do not replace the shared catalog cover for other readers or appear on your public profile.

The page count matters for progress too. Set Edition page count to the number of pages in the copy you are reading so a position or percentage is meaningful for that edition.

A book list shows what you have read. A reading timeline helps you look back at when that reading happened. MyBibliotheca’s calendar brings together dated reading sessions and book milestones so you can revisit a month or find a particular stretch of reading.

A day can appear because you started, finished, or marked a book as DNF, or because you logged a reading session. Imported reading dates also appear in history, even if you did not import a separate session. The timeline records dates you entered or imported; it does not guess how many pages you read based on a finish date.

Search your history and move through months

Browse to the previous or next month, jump to a month from the selector, and filter the history by book title, author, or year. Select an entry to open its book page and see the reading details.

Put midnight in the right place

A late evening session can fall on a different calendar day depending on where you are. Choose the timezone that matches where you read in Settings. Reading streaks count days with a reading log, whether the log contains pages, minutes, or both. If you already have a streak when you join, you can carry in a starting streak separately from your real sessions.

The timeline, session history, timezone, and streak count work together while keeping the record explicit: the app uses saved dates and session metrics rather than inventing them.

Your reading list can be personal even when you want to share part of it. MyBibliotheca libraries are private by default. You choose in Settings whether to publish a public reading page, and you can turn that page off again later.

A public page shows your display name, books, and reading statuses. Book ratings and reading streak are separate options you can choose to include. Your email address, account details, and private book notes are not shown on the public page.

Share only what you choose

You can use a public page to share what you are reading or what you have finished without making every part of your account public. Leave ratings and streaks off if you only want to share your books and their statuses. Preview the link shown in Settings after saving so you can see what visitors can see.

If you change your mind, clear Make my public page live and save. The public URL stops being live; you can turn sharing on again later.

Privacy also applies to personal details outside a public profile. MyBibliotheca includes account tools to export your own reading data as a CSV, and private notes remain part of your account record.

A reading recap can turn a few saved details into a small picture you can keep or share. MyBibliotheca can make a recap card for a finished book or for a month, year, or all time. Choose which metrics appear, preview the result, then download a PNG.

Choose the period and details

For a book card, open a book on your Finished shelf and choose its recap option. For a broader recap, open Make a reading recap from the Dashboard. Select the period, then choose whether to show books finished, pages read, minutes listened, a reading streak, shorter titles, or a private goal. Three card styles are available.

Book covers and ratings can appear when the relevant details are saved. A finish date and rating can make an individual finished-book card more complete.

Keep the generated image under your control

The recap is rendered in your browser. MyBibliotheca does not upload or store the generated image; only the PNG you choose to download leaves the browser. You decide what to do with that downloaded file.

Because a recap reflects information you have saved, it is a good reason to keep book statuses, dates, and sessions current. You can make a monthly snapshot without publishing your full library or changing your public-page settings.

You can use MyBibliotheca in a mobile browser or add it to your phone’s Home Screen for one tap access in an app like window. The installed app uses the same account as the website, so your library and current reads stay connected.

On supported Android browsers, open MyBibliotheca, sign in, choose your initials menu, then choose Install app. If the browser does not show an installation prompt, use its menu option to install or add the site to the Home Screen. The exact wording depends on the browser and its version.

On iPhone or iPad, open MyBibliotheca in Safari and sign in. Use the account menu to view the installation instructions, then tap Safari’s Share button and choose Add to Home Screen. Apple requires this final step to happen in Safari’s Share menu.

Once installed, open the app from the Home Screen or app drawer. Saved library items and current reads are available offline after the app has downloaded them; changes sync when you reconnect. Installing the web app does not create another account or library. Removing its icon does not delete your MyBibliotheca account or books.

If Install app does not appear, check that you are in a regular browser tab, reload while online, and open the initials menu again. On iOS, use Safari.
