A Private Reading Tracker for Books and Audiobooks

A reading tracker is most useful when it reflects how you actually read. Some days you finish a chapter in print; other days you listen to an audiobook on the way home. MyBibliotheca brings those books and reading sessions into one personal library, with room for your own notes and history.

Five shelves for five reading states

Each book can sit on one of five shelves: Reading, Up next, Plan to read, Finished, or Did not finish (DNF). Up next is for the books you are likely to choose soon. Plan to read can hold the longer list. Moving a book between shelves keeps its notes, rating, and reading history with it.

Keep a useful reading record

Log a current page or percentage when you want to remember your place. Add pages read or minutes listened when you want to record a session total. Those are different kinds of information: a position answers “Where am I?” while a session total records “What did I read today?” You can save either or both.

The same library can hold page based and audiobook progress. Set the format and edition details for a book, and use Reading Timeline to revisit dated sessions and reading milestones. A late night log is assigned to the calendar day in your account timezone.

Start with the library you already have

You can add books one at a time or import a Goodreads, StoryGraph, or other CSV export. Once the library is in place, update a status as you start or finish a book, then log progress when it is helpful. There is no need to record every reading minute for the history to be useful.

MyBibliotheca libraries are private by default. You can make an optional public reading page later and choose whether it includes ratings or a streak. Private notes and your email address stay private.

Track Reading Progress for Print, Ebooks, and Audiobooks

Track Reading Progress for Print, Ebooks, and Audiobooks

A good reading log needs to answer two questions without mixing them up: where are you in the book, and what did you read during this session? MyBibliotheca keeps a reading position separate from session totals so you can save the information you have.

Save your place, a session, or both

For a print book or ebook, enter a current page or percentage to remember your position. Add pages read to record the amount from one sitting. For an audiobook, select the audiobook format and use duration or percentage to track your place; add minutes listened when you want the session total. A position only entry can save your place without inventing pages or minutes.

Choose today or an earlier date when logging a session later. Notes are optional. Reading Timeline shows the dated history, and daily page and minute totals use the actual session metrics recorded.

Use the right edition details

Different editions can have different page counts, and audiobooks have their own duration. Set the format and the physical page count or audio duration for the copy you are reading. If publisher extras come after the readable text, you can set the last readable page separately. Future percentages then use that end point without changing the saved history.

Changing from ebook to audiobook also does not recalculate past sessions: pages remain page sessions, and listening time remains listening time. That keeps your record understandable if you switch formats partway through a book.

Keep the record flexible

You can log from the Dashboard or the book page. Use a position when you want to pick up where you left off, a session total when you want a daily reading summary, or both when that is useful.

Your Reading Tracker Should Track More Than Books Finished

Your Reading Tracker Should Track More Than Books Finished

2 minutes read

“I finished 30 books” is a satisfying milestone, but it leaves out the rest of the year: the chapters you read before bed, the audiobook listened to on a commute, and the book you paused and later picked back up. A reading tracker app should capture that activity too. MyBibliotheca brings books, sessions, progress, and reading history together. Get started for free.

Track the work between finish dates

Log a session when you read or listen, including pages or minutes, and keep progress connected to the book. Those small entries add context to your library and make it easier to remember when you read something. The reading progress guide walks through adding a session.

Over time, your timeline and streaks can help you see patterns that a completed-books counter misses. Browse the reading timeline or learn how streaks account for time zones in the streak and timezone guide.

Include the formats you actually use

Print, ebooks, and audiobooks do not always have the same kind of progress. A tracker should let you record the measure that makes sense for the format, so minutes listened can sit alongside pages read. If you use KOReader, compatible progress can sync into your library rather than requiring you to recreate every update manually.

Make your reading history useful

Detailed tracking is not about turning reading into a competition. It is about having a better memory of your own habits and books. Start your MyBibliotheca reading tracker, add a session when you finish your next chapter, and let your personal history grow one entry at a time.
